The problem

The same burger makes three different profits.

Food-cost spreadsheets stop at the plate. Delivery apps take their cut of the price your customer pays — VAT included — and packaging only applies off-premises. Most owners find out what's left when the payout lands.

25–35%

typical commission on UK delivery-app orders (check your own contract)

20%

VAT on hot takeaway food comes out of the menu price before you see a penny

1 price rise

from a supplier quietly lowers the margin on every dish that uses it

How it works

From supplier invoice to the right menu price in three steps.

  1. 1

Add ingredients as you buy them

Pack size and price straight off the invoice — 5 kg for £42.50. Set the usable yield once (after trimming and cooking loss) and every gram is costed correctly.

  2. 2

    Build recipes & sub-recipes

Sauces, doughs and marinades are costed by the batch and used by the millilitre, gram or portion. Change one price and every dish updates.

  3. 3

    Price every channel

See profit and margin for counter, Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat side by side — with one-tap prices that hit your target or match your counter profit.

Is your delivery price actually profitable?

Enter one dish. We'll show what you keep after VAT, commission and costs — and the price you need.

Commission is applied to the full customer price. Margin is profit as a share of the price excluding VAT, before labour and overheads.

FAQ

Questions owners ask us.

Is commission really charged on the VAT-inclusive price?

Delivery apps usually take commission from the full order value your customer pays, which includes VAT — so a 30% commission costs more than it looks. Agreements differ, so MarginMise lets you choose whether commission applies before or after VAT, and add any fixed per-item fee.

Does it include labour, rent and energy?

No. MarginMise shows your margin after food, packaging and platform commission — the part that changes dish by dish and channel by channel. Set a target that leaves room for your overheads (many owners use 30–40%).

Does it work outside the UK?

Yes. Choose your currency, set the VAT or sales-tax rate per dish and enter the commission for any platform — DoorDash, Menulog, SkipTheDishes, your own website, anything.

Do I need a card for the trial?

No. Try the sample menu instantly, then start a 14-day Pro trial with just your email. Choose a plan only if it's useful.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, from your account in two clicks. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you can download your data whenever you like.

Is my menu data private?

Your recipes and prices are visible only to your account. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we never sell or share it. See our Privacy Policy.
